introduction


Based on the challenges facing educational institutions and believing in the importance of the role played by universities in contributing to building, developing and progressing society, the Ministry of Higher Education adopted a strategy to improve and develop higher education and translated that strategy into a number of projects, one of which was the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Project. The two projects submitted by Tanta University in the first session (September 2004) were approved: the quality strategy project and the project to establish a quality assurance center at the university.

The Center for Total Quality Management and Performance Evaluation was established based on the decision of the Tanta University Council on November 25, 2004, and a headquarters was allocated to it on the third floor of the Development Center.

Its funding was from the project to establish the Total Quality Management Center, one of the projects funded by the Higher Education Development Fund (HEEPF), which was presented by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nabih Al-Gharib, a professor at the Faculty of Medicine, who made a great effort to establish the center’s infrastructure, including furniture, a computer lab, and a meeting room.

- The University President’s Decision No. (2310) was issued appointing Prof. Dr. Magdy Hassan Hussein Balha, Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, as Director of the Center for Quality Assurance and Qualification for Accreditation at Tanta University.

On 5/29/2007


- Based on the results of the tests conducted by a tripartite committee to select the director of the University’s Quality Center, the University Council, at its session held on May 29, 2007, approved the assignment of the following:

- Prof. Dr. Jamalat Muhammad Al-Sulait, Director of the University’s Quality Assurance Center

- Prof. Dr. Mustafa Muhammad Al-Sheikh - Deputy Director of the University’s Quality Assurance Center

- Prof. Dr. Hala Ahmed Fouad - Deputy Director of the University’s Quality Assurance Center
