Signing a cooperation agreement between Tanta University and the Indonesian University of Darussalam Gontor
A cooperation agreement was signed today between the University of Tanta and the University of Darussalam Gontor of Indonesia at the headquarters of the University of Tanta, aiming to attract Indonesian students to study for the bachelor's degree in the Faculty of Medicine and the bachelor and postgraduate stages in the Faculty of Pharmacy.
Dr. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs on behalf of Dr. Mahmoud Zaki President of the University, signed the agreement with Dr. Amal Fathallah Zarkashi, President Counselor of University of Darussalam Gontor ,in the presence of Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research,Prof.Mohamed Hussein Vice prisident for Education and Students' Affairs and Prof. Mahmoud Shakal, Executive Manager of the Main Center of International Relations and International Students’ Affairs; Nor Shahid, Aref Effendi Zarkashy, Prof. Bambang Soriady, Educational and Cultural Counselor, Sobhan Jilany, Employee , and Fawzan Mustafa from the office of the Educational and Cultural Counselor.
Dr. Mahmoud Zaki, President of Tanta University , stated that the agreement comes within the framework of the University's constant desire to promote joint cooperation with universities in the academic, research, innovation and technology fields. This is can be achieved by developing partnerships and cooperation gaining knowledge from other universities' experiences in various fields through building bridges for international cooperation between universities .
According to Dr. Mahmoud Salim, the agreement aims to foster academic cooperation in community service, continuing education, and training programs that enhance faculty members' competency. It also includes exchanging visits between professors and researchers, scholarships for students pursuing bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and enhancing cooperation of mutual interest in academic aspects, conducting academic meeting and conference, sharing knowledge, and digital learning resources through the creation of academic plans and programs.
Dr. Mahmoud Shakal declared that the signing of this agreement comes within the implementation of the plan of the Main Center for International Relations and students' Affairs to strengthen the university’s international relations with similar universities, attracting more international students from different nationalities to study at Tanta University, and activating international cooperation frameworks concerning research and academic fields.
Dr.Shakal added that the agrrement intends to draw Indonesian students to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Bachelor's degree of Medicine programs.
On his part ,Dr.Shakal accompanied the delegation on an inspection tour of the university to find out more about the university’s facilities. The tour began with a visit to the Main Center for International Relations and International Students' Affairs. He presented the provided services for the students of different nationalities, which would facilitate their study and residence . The delegation expressed a great admiration concerning the level of service offered by the center.
Following its visit, the delegation learned about the faculty's resources and study options at the Faculty of Pharmacy. A workshop was organized to discuss research topics and areas of collaboration between the two universities, as well as different study programs for both undergraduate and graduate degrees.
He then accompanied the delegation to the Faculty of Medicine to learn about the facilities and study programs offered by the faculty. Members of the delegation were briefed on the programs available by discussing academic aspects of cooperation and exchanging experiences and research projects.
The delegation concluded its tour in the University by visiting the Surgical Hospital inspecting the health facilities and services provided to patients. At he end of the visit, the Indonesian delegation highly praised the University's services in all academic and service areas and welcomed the two universities' collaboration.
