Within the framework of the directives of Dr. Mohamed Hussein, President of Tanta University, to enhance international cooperation and develop the system of education and scientific research, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Nasr, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University, paid an official visit to the Silesian University of Technology in the Republic of Poland to explore prospects for academic and research cooperation between both sides.

The visit comes as part of Tanta University's strategy aimed at expanding its base of international partnerships with distinguished universities and academic institutions, supporting the internationalization of higher education, and opening new avenues for faculty members, researchers, and students to benefit from modern international expertise and experiences.

Tour of Silesian University Laboratories and Workshops

The visit of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University included inspecting a number of advanced research laboratories and workshops at the Silesian University of Technology, where he reviewed the latest systems, devices, and equipment utilized across various engineering specializations.

During the tour, both parties discussed ways to leverage advanced capabilities and equipment to develop the research and laboratory infrastructure at the Faculty of Engineering, alongside upgrading the efficiency of academic and research outputs to keep pace with rapid global advancements in engineering and technological fields.

Through these initiatives, Tanta University seeks to enhance the capabilities of its scientific faculties and link scientific research with modern technological applications, contributing to the preparation of engineering cadres capable of competing locally and internationally.

Research Cooperation and International Co-Supervision of Theses

The visit witnessed extensive discussions between the Egyptian and Polish sides regarding mechanisms to expand research cooperation and benefit from the expertise of Silesian University faculty members in reviewing the scientific journals issued by the Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University.

The two parties also discussed the possibility of professors from the Silesian University of Technology participating in the joint co-supervision of academic theses, in accordance with regulating bylaws and rules, providing graduate students with greater opportunities to connect with international academic schools and benefit from specialized research expertise.
